Product overview and selection guidance

Product-family scope, interfaces, selection limits, and supply notes.

Copper-based lock nuts for securing fine-thread adjustment mechanisms. Source images show knurled, side-hole, stepped and round forms. Metric choices explicitly mark a 0.25 pitch; the pitch of the imperial DXJ-CK1/4 option is not documented. Choose by the complete model and mating thread, not diameter alone.

Matching the thread

Match the internal thread to both the nominal diameter and pitch of the adjustment screw. A 1/4-inch label does not establish fit with every 1/4-inch screw; confirm threads per inch or pitch. Similar outside diameters do not make metric and imperial parts interchangeable.

Choosing the body style

Use the available space, finger or tool access and bearing surface to choose a knurled, side-hole or stepped form. Numerical pairs in a model label remain source notation until a drawing defines them. Do not assume they are outside diameter and thickness.

Locking and acceptance

Agree how the adjustment screw is held while the nut is tightened, then check the mechanism position after locking. Confirm permitted torque, thread fit, alloy and repeated-locking life for the application. The source provides no common rating for those values.

Supply information

Optical mounts shown in the application image are not included automatically with a nut. Provide the complete model, mating screw, access constraints, quantity and packing requirements. Custom shapes, materials and finishes require a drawing.
