L16J Ø4 mm Imperial-Thread Stainless Steel Cage Rods

L16J stainless steel assembly rods have a 4 mm body diameter and 4-40 threaded end connections for 16 mm cage systems. The engineering table and all 16 individual model cards have been checked, covering body lengths of 6.4–203.2 mm with single-rod options and selected four-rod packs. The 16 mm designation describes the cage format, not rod diameter. The 4-40 thread specification must not be substituted with M4.

Length and pack size

The drawing measures L between the ends of the cylindrical rod body, excluding projecting end screws. Lengths of 6.4, 12.7, 25.4, 38.1, 50.8, 76.2 and 101.6 mm have single-rod and four-rod options. This listing offers 152.4 and 203.2 mm as single rods only. Each length and pack size is confirmed by the individual photograph and engineering table, rather than inferred solely from the model suffix.

End threads

The main image identifies a 4-40 threaded hole at each end. The drawing calls out 4-40 screws in two places for cage-system assembly. Photographs show projecting end screws and loose screws, but the text does not establish a supplied quantity per rod or pack. Screw length, thread depth and tightening torque are also unspecified; confirm these when ordering.

System fit

The application photograph shows four rods joining two cage plates, demonstrating use with compatible 16 mm cage hardware. Cage plates and optical components are not automatically included. Check 4 mm rod-hole fit, cage format, body length L and 4-40 end threads. Brand compatibility and final optical-axis position depend on the selected components. Rod body length is not the complete assembly length.

The source identifies stainless steel but provides no grade, diameter tolerance, straightness, surface roughness, load rating or environmental range. The 303 grade from other series is not assumed here. Custom sizes are advertised subject to confirmation of dimensions, price, lead time and accessory supply.
